Ba Ria Vung Tau deep water portIf the transportation system and services in the port of Ba Ria – Vung Tau is still late to the rate of development of ports here, such advantages of the deep-water remains potential .

Currently the province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has 14 ports are exploited, including 12 specialized ports and 2 general ports .

Compared with other localities in the country, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is always the way in construction and development system port.

Within 10 years, since the government approved master plan to develop the seaport system of Vietnam and the seaport system divided Vietnam into eight groups, including the seaport system of Ba Ria – Vung vessels in group 5, test the development of seaports here shady move to phase unknown.

Currently more 37 port projects with total registered capital of over 87 thousand billion continue to be deployed in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. A signal is kha optimistic view is, to this moment, 37 projects were metabolized to a number of the registered capital which is estimated to about 8536 billion, reaching the value 9.8%.

Department of Transportation – Transportation Ba Ria – Vung Tau said, in addition to 14 projects have started construction, the current remaining 23 projects are in the finishing phase of investment procedures.

Expected step in 2010, but this project will start work in bulk. So, if “pure wish for successfully”, 2020, the port sector in Ba Ria – Vung Tau will be enough admitting about 120 million tons of goods per year.

In particular, from early this year, in the province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has three deep-water port of Port International SP – PSA, New Port Cai Mep deep water port PTSC has completed and put into operation.

With the ability to be able to get at a much larger vessels, the three ports has been really open new trade opportunities for this land.

Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau for, in addition to the three deep-water port, only within two to three years, the area along the Thi Vai River, Tan Thanh district will have dozens of container port can absorb large tonnage vessels.

Currently, provincial leaders are directed to other departments, units are fiercely relevant focus for the construction of infrastructure for ports, roads firstly that port, highway 51 , line 965, the logistics services in the port.

Said the Deputy Minister of Transport – Transport Tran Doan Tho, every port in the area of Ba Ria – Vung Tau go into work with an international stature, does not alone Ba Ria – Vung Tau that the region southern key economic conditions are good for development.

The qualification of Mr. Tran Doan Tho is entirely correct, and right from the beginning, the planning, seaport system in Ba Ria – Vung Tau has also target this purpose.

Not only that, the development of sea ports in Ba Ria-Vung Tau with a mission higher than both, that is creating conditions to make moving the seaports from the domestic firms, to help Vietnam against traffic congestion and limit environmental pollution.

With a vision that, within 10 years, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has attracted dozens of investors participate in building the port. If the items do have the opportunity to base market area Cai Mep port group – Thi Vai in Tan Thanh district, where many projects are focusing greater’ll see, “health” of the region are key Southern transfer significantly .

As noted by baodautu.vn, foreign investors are investing in ports in Ba Ria – Vung Tau are corporations exploiting maritime transport and seaport in the world. Which may matter to the big names such as PSA (Singapore), Marsk (Denmark), SSA Marine (USA), CMA-CGM (France).

More importantly, most of the specialized ports and container ports such as are large scale, designed for ship tonnage 80000-160000 tons.

This is the basis to verify information provided her more confidence that, Ba Ria – Vung Tau will be the place to gather the bustling seaport and modern in the near future.

But the prospect does not balance the worries after 2010, when a series of new projects started, the instability due to lack of synchronization in the development of transport systems and services to the port strongly outbreak.

Many homeowners today are looking into integrating green energy sources for developing more energy efficient homes and businesses. A green energy source is power generated through renewable resources, such as the sun, wind and water. The other benefit of green energy sources is their low contribution to global warming, pollution and other environmental issues.

The most popular of green energy sources is the sun. Energy captured from the sun is called solar energy. Of the green energy sources, solar energy is the most popular because it offers multiple options for use. It is possible to harness electrical energy from the sun using solar panels consisting of photovoltaic cells that convert energy from the sun into electricity you can use in your home or business. There are also solar hot water collectors that use the heat of the sun to produce hot water. These solar green energy sources are readily available and increasing in popularity as most homes and businesses can have them mounted on their roof and they can take advantage of lowered utility costs.

The most efficient of green energy sources is wind. Wind has been used to power water pumps for centuries, but has grown in popularity as a way to supplement home and business electricity needs. Wind is the safest and cleanest of the green energy sources as it produces no pollutants and does not contribute to global warming. Wind energy is harnessed by erecting a turbine that spins in the breeze generating electricity. Unlike the sun, which can be found almost anywhere, in order to utilize wind as a green energy source, you must live in an area where wind is readily available. Water is also a viable participant of green energy sources.

Water is less widely used as a green energy source for homes, as not all homes have an available stream to produce the needed electricity. The Amish have used water to power entire shops using conveyer belt systems, so it is an old practice, but it is still being used successfully today. As with solar and wind energy, energy harnessed from moving water is almost completely pollutant free and is generated from a renewable resource.

If this challenging field sounds like the career path you want to take, then you will need some financial assistance in paying for this ambitious educational endeavor.

National Association Scholarships

The National Society of Professional Engineers offers a scholarship for graduate students studying Engineering Management at the master degree level. It is called the Professional Engineers in Government (PEG) and any engineering intern or current licensed Professional Engineer from any type of field is encouraged to apply. Monetary awards are usually $2,500 for one year.

The American Welding Society offers a number of national scholarships with one geared specifically for students in graduate school studying for an Engineering Management degree with an emphasis in the welding industry. This scholarship is called the Hypertherm International HyTech Leadership Scholarship. Eligible applicants should have a Bachelor of Science degree or at least be in their senior year of college. Grade point averages should not be below 2.8 out of 4.0. Priority is given to those applicants who display financial need. The monetary award is $2,500 for a year.

Foundation Scholarship Funding

The Florida Engineering Foundation offers a scholarship funded through ACEC, the American Council of Engineering Companies and supports students who plan to study Engineering Management. Qualified applicants must be studying for a Bachelor’s degree and be in their third, fourth or fifth year of schooling. In addition, eligible students must be U. S. citizens. The scholarship is for $1,000 for a year and also offers a chance to be considered for a national ACEC scholarship of $5,000.

The Miami University Paper Science and Engineering Foundation, at Miami University, offers scholarships to Engineering Management students who have a proven track record of academic excellence. Cumulative grade point averages determine the value of the awarded scholarships that must be used towards tuition and other university fees. First year college students are welcome to apply and must supply the requisite ACT or SAT scores as well as their high school grade point average. Upperclassmen can apply as long as they have enrolled in at least twelve hours in the engineering department and have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better.

University Scholarship Opportunities

The University of North Carolina-Asheville offers two scholarships in which Engineering Management students are eligible. With both opportunities, students who display financial need and academic achievement will be considered first:

The Mortimer Kahn Management Scholarship requests that a student must have already declared their major and be a resident of North Carolina.

The Amanda Massey Memorial Scholarship specifies preference to students who are graduates of North Buncombe High School, but will consider others as well. To be eligible, students must also show outstanding service to the community or university. In addition, any students who are members of the IFC or Pan-Hellenic organizations are also front running candidates for the scholarship.

The University of Missouri-Rolla presents the Robert and Linda Mueller Manufacturing Engineering Scholarship which is available to students who declare Engineering Management as their major with an emphasis in Manufacturing Engineering. Monetary awards vary and are based on scholastic achievement and level of involvement in university activities.

Kansas State University offers a scholarship to distance education students studying for their Master’s degree in Engineering Management. The Robert F. Sykes Scholarship is geared towards students who have been accepted and are enrolling in the distance education Master’s program through Kansas State University. Eligible students must have graduated with a Bachelor degree from a university with an accredited engineering department, worked in a professional capacity for at least a year as an engineer and have at least a 3.5 grade point average.

When it comes to civil engineering career, the first thing you need to do is consider the field you want to enter. There are many different sub-disciplines, however, the main aspect of getting any solid civil engineering jobs is that you have the appropriate experience and education.

Typically, a college degree is necessary even to enter the field at an entry level position. A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, or engineering is almost always required. You will then need to gather the necessary work experience to become a licensed civil engineer. Four years is the minimum work experience requirement for licensing, as well as the requirement of taking an exam. The best way to get this experience is to work as an apprentice of a licensed and experienced civil engineer.

You then have to understand just what it takes to be a civil engineer. You need to make sure that you meet the standards of an engineer. For example, you we need to possess the ability to be detailed and organized at all times. You must have analytical skills, be curious, as well as creative. You have to be able to lead people, manage people and projects at the same time, as well as have the ability to work with a team of people.

On average, your starting pay will depend on the level of degree you hold in engineering. For example, if you hold a bachelor’s specifically in the field of civil engineering, you might be looking at a starting wage of $43,000 yearly. However, if you hold a masters or PH.D., the amount would likely go up to $48,000 and $59,000 yearly respectively.

One very important aspect of civil engineering is your ability to take responsibility. Being an engineer requires attention to even the smallest detail, the ability to follow plans, create plans, and stick to plans to the “T”, and understand that you are providing the public with a specific service. Their safety, their welfare, and their environment is in your hands. If you were to make even the smallest of mistakes, it could be detrimental, not only to your career, but other people lives and community.

When you apply for a job, employers ask for two important documents:

A CV or resume

A covering letter

In the last post we looked at your CV. This post we will look at your covering letter.

Why You Need a Covering Letter

When you send your CV to apply for a position, you should also include a short letter. This letter is called a covering letter, cover letter or letter of application.

Your letter of application is a sales letter. The product it is selling is your CV.

Content

Your letter should be short, concise and relevant. It should:

confirm that you are applying for the job

say where you learned about the job

say why you want the job

say why you would be a benefit to the company

request an interview

Format

Here is the typical format for your covering letter:

1 Your address – telephone – fax – email
Put your address and telephone number, fax and/or email address at the top in the centre or on the right.

2 Date

3 Destination name and address
This is the name of the person to whom you are writing, his/her job title, the company name and address.

4 Reference
The reference number or code given by the employer in their advertisement or previous letter.

5 Salutation (Dear . . .)
A letter in English usually begins with ‘Dear…’, even if you do not know the person.

6 Subject
The subject of your letter, which for a job application is normally the Job Title.

7 Body
The letter itself, in 3 to 6 paragraphs

8 Ending (Yours . . .)
Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Yours truly

9 Your signature

10 Your name
Your first name and surname, for example Mary Smith, James Kennedy

11 Enclosures
Indicate that one or more documents are enclosed by writing ‘Enc 2′ for two documents, for example.

In the English-speaking world, an employer would usually prefer to receive a letter of application that is word-processed (that is, produced on a computer and printed). A hand-written letter could be considered unprofessional.

When you apply for a job, employers ask for two important documents:

A CV or resume

A covering letter

This post we look at your CV. Next post we will look at your covering letter.

Why you need a good CV

Your CV is a summary of your professional and academic life. It usually concentrates on your personal details, education and work experience.

Your CV’s job is very simple: to get you a job interview. To do this, your CV must be:

clear

well-organised

easy to read

concise

relevant to the job offered

Content

You should include everything that is relevant to your employment or career and nothing that is irrelevant. There are usually 5 general headings of information to include:

Personal details: name, address, email and telephone number (and sometimes nationality, age/date of birth and marital status)

Objective: a headline that summarises the job you want

Work experience: your employment in reverse chronological order

Education: details of secondary and university education

Personal interests: showing that you are a well-balanced person with an interesting life outside work

Sometimes, you may need to give additional information for a particular job or because you have special qualifications.

Format

In the English-speaking world your CV should be word-processed, for several reasons:

a hand-written CV is unprofessional

some recruitment agencies and employers like to scan CVs electronically

it will be easier for you to update and modify your CV later

It is usually best to limit your CV to a maximum of 2 pages. You can usually put everything you need on 1 or 2 pages.

DO NOT USE ALL CAPITALS LIKE THIS!!! CAPITALS ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO READ AND CAN BE CONSIDERED IMPOLITE IN THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING WORLD.

There are basically 2 standard paper sizes, depending on your part of the world:

A4 (297 x 210 millimetres) – as used in Europe

Letter Size (8 1/2 x 11 inches) – as used in the United States

Vocabulary

Your language should be simple and clear.

Use short words and short sentences.

Do not use technical vocabulary (unless you are sure that the reader will understand it).

Talk about concrete facts (“I increased sales by 50%”), not abstract ideas (“I was responsible for a considerable improvement in our market position”).

Use verbs in the active voice, not passive voice. Which of these two sentences do you think is the more powerful?

active: “I organised this exhibition.”

passive: “This exhibition was organised by me.”

Use “power words”. The most powerful words are verbs. And the most powerful verbs are action verbs. (Action verbs describe dynamic activity, not state).

Here, for example, are some typical power words for Management and Sales skills:

Management skills: assign, attain, chair, co-ordinate, delegate, direct, execute, organise, oversee, plan, recommend, review, strengthen, supervise, train

Sales skills: sell, convert, close, deal, persuade, highlight, satisfy, win over, sign

So you should use lots of action verbs matched to your skills, and use them in the active form, not the passive form.
